So a few weeks ago, I entered a Birthday Contest hosted by lovely mayaari It was to guess when her birthdate was, and to my surprise, I guessed right, along with a few other people. The other surprise, was that my birthday is exactly on the same day as hers, April 17th. So this is my first contest that I won so far on blogger, I'm not too lucky in winning, so I guess this was a blessing. Fast forward today!! I came home from class, and found a package on the dinner table. I thought to myself, I didn't order anything, or swapped anything, why do I have a package? After a few moments, I was like "O Yeah!" its the contest birthday gift thingy on blogger. I was super excited as to what was in the package. Diana was soo kind to include all the goodies in the package, I was super surprised and happy!!

Overall I had a fun birthday weekend, but super exhausted. I took Friday off, to finish some school appointments (i know super lame!! ) and then spent the rest of the day with the husband.!!

April Baby!!

So my birthday is coming up next week on the 17^th. I’m like. ALREADY!!! it’s already been 1 year, WOW!! That’s too soon; I don’t want to get older. LoL!! I’m too old to announce my age, but I feel that though I may be getting older, I still am a child at heart and love my life. It’s also cool, that my hubby’s birthday is in April too, so I guess that’s a double blessing in the month of April.

Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque

Since I got my Sally's Card, I decided I was gonna give this masque a try. I've read a few reviews here and there through many blogs and decided maybe it might work for me. The Sallys in town didn't have the tube, so I bought the jar. For the price I paid for it, it has a pretty good amount of product in it and its a good size. Overall, after I tried, I liked it and I really did see a difference. Queen Helene Mint Julep Masque: Price: $2.99 (w/ Sally's Card) Product: 3 oz. (85g) Details: Designed to help with acne, remove blackheads, and shrink pores. Pros: ~ Price- this is very affordable and cheap ~ Cool minty smell fragrance ~ Product tingles your face, (means its actually working) ~ Doesn't take too long to dry, just in enough time 15-20 mins ~ Significant acne reduction: pimples, blackheads, pores Cons: ~ Can be harsh for sensitive skin ~ Burning sensation (can be more intense for some) ~ Jar product: easier for bacteria to grow ~ Available only at Sally's Beauty Supply or limited to some online sites only Overall: It does help with most acne and does help clear the skin. It's not a miracle product where everything will disappear the next morning, but it's close. I did feel some type of burning sensation but minimal to where I could bear it. It's a very easy product to use, all you have to do is slather some on evenly, wait for it to dry, and wash away. Pretty simple!! I also love the fact that it's pretty cheap and has lots of products to last for awhile. Buy HERE!!

Welcome to the Beauty Club!!

Monday, I got stuck in traffic coming home from work, so I took a shortcut through town. As I was coming home, I was thinking to myself, and remembered that I should go get myself a Sally's Beauty Supply Card (i know, soo random). Not exactly, I needed to get a new clipper for my husband's clipper, and why not get a discount too while I'm there. I've always wanted to get one, but never really went to go and get it, well never really had a reason to go get. lol

It was pretty easy to get it, as I thought I would have needed some credentials or something in that nature. I just asked the lady, signed up, paid my $5 membership fee, and I get discounts for one year. How awesome is that!! They also have another Professional Discount Card for licensed cosmetologists.

I assume the discounts apply to most items in the store, and most will be about 10-20% off retail. I know it's only a few cents off, but hey, that's great when I'm trying to save at the same time, or have more money to buy other things. Even though I spent $5 for the card, I already got back my money since I bought some polishes and a clipper blade for the husband. I think it's an awesome deal for anyone who's wants to save, but get good products too!
