Hello Kitty @ Target

I love Target.  Its awesome to live super close to one, however its kind of bad too as I tend to go there often.  This past weekend I was just looking around some of the home kitchen items for the house and found a whole wall of Hello Kitty items.  Yes, I've seen things here and there, but not all bunched up together.

I found it rather cute and exciting to see that many home items were in Hello Kitty brand.  Its like going to Japan and seeing Hello Kitty everywhere.  I didn't get anything as the hubby probably wouldn't appreciate having to see Hello Kitty everyday in the kitchen lol.  Maybe someday he'll give in.

Isn't it cute?

MAC Marilyn Monroe - Lippies Sold Out

I've been super out of the loop with MAC cosmetics lately and haven't paid much attention to the lastest collections being put out.  However, I did notice that MAC was launching a new collection with Marilyn Monroe on the packaging.  I thought it was pretty cool.

I've seen some of the swatches of the collection, wasn't a big fan, however the lipstick colors caught my eye. All the colors except for one are pretty bold and red the other was a sheer nude permanent color.

The collection launched online yesterday and like always all the lipsticks were sold out.  It was basically sold out when they launched on the site.  Too bad, I was going to get some lippies.  I guess I'll just have to wait to grab it at the store, and even with that, it may be hard because everyone will be trying to get them before me too.

Anyways, I'll try my best to get them come next week. *hopes*

What have you bought from the MAC Marilyn Monroe Collection?

NOTD: OPI Dim Sum Plum

Quick Nail of the Day for everyone!

Awhile back I purchased the OPI Hong Kong mini set and haven't really had a chance to play around with the colors. The colors in the set are super bright and bold, so I have to be on a good mood to try something like this.

Dim Sum Plum is a hot pink magenta color polish. Under flash and sunlight it looks more pink, but in the dark its a more plum/magenta color. To me its more on the cool side which I like as it seems a bit more toned down. I still think this a hot color and anyone can rock it.  If I think I can rock it, I'm definitely sure everyone can rock it!

OPI Dim Sum Plum

*Excuse the chip polish on one the nails.  Picture was taken a day or two later after the initial application.

Have an Awesome Day!

Sephora Brush Set Sale! *Hot Deal*

Took a quick peek at Sephora's sale section online and was surprised to see a product that I thought would never get discounted.  I'm sure this deal is not going to stay pretty long on the site, so I say grab it while you can.

This is especially great if you are new to the Beauty world and are in need of good quality brushes. It can also be great for budding makeup artist who needs something to start off with.

Sephora Makeup Artist Brush Belt Set

Description:
What it is:
A makeup artist's belt with a range of brushes for your every need.

What you need to know:
Sephora's Brush Belt includes fifteen deluxe, professional brushes that will never leave you at a loss for makeup application. Every brush imaginable is at your fingertips, so you can create a professional makeup look anytime. The brushes come in Sephora's Makeup Artist Brush Belt case, made of easy-to-clean faux leather, with interior nylon pockets on the left and the right that are made to fit all brush sizes, and center pockets designed for a Kabuki brush on top and a bronzer brush underneath. An adjustable strap allows for the belt to be comfortably worn around the waist or over-the-shoulder. When you're done, simply cover brushes with the nylon flap, then fold the belt in half and close with the attached strap.

This set includes:
- Professional Natural Crease Brush #10
- Professional Natural Smudge Brush #11
- Professional Natural All Over Shadow Brush #12
- Professional Natural Medium Eyeshadow Brush #14
- Professional Lash & Eyebrow Comb #21
- Professional Angle Brush #22
- Professionnel Platinum Smokey Eye Brush #24
- Professionnel Platinum Natural Powder Brush #40
- Professionnel Platinum Natural Slant Brush #42
- Professionnel Platinum Natural Fan Brush #43
- Professionnel Platinum Stippling Brush #44
- Professionnel Platinum Concealer Brush #45
- Professionnel Platinum Foundation Brush #47
- Professionnel Platinum Bronzer Brush #48
- Professionnel Platinum Lip Brush #61

So the Retail price is $275.  You can get it now for just $150.

That's a total of $125 off the retail price.  This set is still worth over $400.

With 15 professional brushes and the brush belt, I think this is a great bargain for brushes.  I have a few of Sephora Professional brushes and I love them.  They still are in good condition.  When I started out doing makeup, I really wanted this set, however I couldn't justify paying $275 for it, so I never got.  Now that I have plenty of brushes to go around, I'm not sure if I'll get this, but you never know.  I still think this is an awesome deal that everyone who can get should.

Most likely this is an online deal sale.  You can get it here at Sephora.com

Get it before it's gone!

Berry Eye Summer Look!

Long time no blog! No excuses, I've been busy with life and new stuff coming up so I'll try to update when I can.  I decided to take a few months off to really get my life together and settle down a bit.

Here's a quick FOTD for you:

A Berry Eye Summer Look

With the Glasses

Not quite sure what I used so here's a guess:

Eyes: MAC Cranberry, Sketch, Blacktrack f/l, and Revlon Cream Palette
Face: MUFE HD, Smashbox Halo, MAC Instant Chic blush
Lips: MAC Bare slimshine

Kept the look heavier on the eyes with the Berry look and then the rest of the face was much lighter.  Didn't want to overwhelm with heavy eyes and lips. Simple look that I love to recreate and wear often. Berry colors are very pretty!

What colors are you sporting this Summer?

FREE Target Summer Beauty Bag!

I love Target! Its one of my favorite stores to go and browse and shop.

I also love shopping Target's beauty section since they have expanded and included lots of other brands that are different from the regular drugstore brands. Those include Elf, Jemma Kidd, Pixi, and Sonia Kashuk.

Every season Target comes out with a Free Beauty Bag up for grabs either on their website or on Facebook.  This bag includes deluxe samples for hair, makeup, and body. They also include coupons in the bag as well which is great for me because I love to coupon.

So right now up for grabs on their Facebook, Target Style is giving away their Summer Beauty Bag.  The contents will remain secret until we receive them but I'm sure it will be great as always.  These run out fast, so sign up and get them!

Like them here and request for your bag!!

NOTD - French, Silver, and some Borders?

Yes, I"m pretty late to the Nail Art trend.  So the new thing is the Caviar Nails, by the time I get to trying it, the trend will be over with lol.  Anyways I decided to play with some nail polishes to use and paint my nails.

One of the most recent trends I thought I saw was the two-toned border art? (is that how you say it?) So I decided to try it out. I didn't come out as well as I thought, as I'm not as talented in Nail art. Darn hand kept shaking! So I only have one picture to share.

Used: Zoya Ibiza and Sephora by OPI Metro Chic

The second attempt that night at nail art featured white French tips and a silver/glitter line. (excuse the dark remnants of the previous manicure on my cuticles)

Used Wet & Wild white polish and Milani 3D Holographic polish

I kept the French polish on for some time as I wasn't too fond of the border art. I'll definitely have to try it again maybe with different colors to see if I like it.  For the time being I'll keep practicing! Nail art, even painting my nails can be time consuming! arrhh!

Weekend Finds and Almost Buys!

Its been a long while since I've been on here! I basically disappeared for some time.  Alot of things have been happening these last two months and I've been busier than ever before.  Now when I come home from work, I just want to cook, eat, rest, and go to sleep.  I have yet to find more motivation to do anything.

The man and I have also moved into our new home and with that, it took a huge toll on us.  We are still in the process of moving stuff around and unpacking which will never end from the way I see it, eventually it will get done.  I haven't even set up my office for blogging and pictures, so it was an excuse for me to stay away! Hopefully I can get things settled and come back to blogging.  I definitely need to finish up a few posts I meant to have earlier in the month ready for everyone plus a few new ones.

Anyways, here are some of the quick items I found this weekend at my local shopping spots. When I was suppose to look for house items, I found these instead hehe!

These were my almost buys! I had to tell myself NO!!

Michael Kors bag - I was in love, but the handles were a bit too short for me.

I really had to convince myself to not get this bag. Coach bag - $199

My No Buys:

This looked cool at first, perfect for papers or my makeup, but the drawers were hard to pull out and put back in. Not sturdy for clumsy me.

Some organizational stuff that I passed for now.

Quick post to get the week started.  I hope to take a few pics of glimpses of my house or at least my work and makeup area. Once I have those two organized, pics will follow.

Did you have a good weekend?

Strawberry Festival - Weekend Fun!

This is a belated post from the other weekend that I did not post up on blogger.  I took a week off just to relax and focus on other things other than makeup and blogging.  I have many more things to share and show, so I hope to keep this up and get motivated to blog.

Strawberry Festival = Yummy Food!

One thing about fairs and festivals is the fried foods that we get to indulge in just a few times a year.
Here you go!!

Funnel Cake
Fried Pickles
Bloomin Onion

And the reason why we go every year:
Strawberry Shortcake!

We had lots of fun. Just walked around, talked, looked at other people, laugh, sing, eat, and eat. Can't wait until next year to do it all over again.

End of the night:

Will be announcing my Giveaway Winner soon! Can't Wait!!

Totally My Style - Casual Pretty

Love Pinterest and Polyvore! My favorite places to find styling tips and fashion ideas!
Here's two looks that are definitely my style.

Totally My Style - Casual Pretty

Casual Pretty to me is more on the casual part but with a some prettinest here and there.  I love the added accessories in the pictures above, it really compliments the outfit and give it more of a prettier look than just the jeans and shirt kind of outfit.
I'm definitely a casual dressing girl. I love to be comfortable and chill but still look like I attempted to put an outfit together.  Sandals and flats are my faves and love all the handbags because they are mid size and still goes with the outfits.  Who can go wrong with jeans? White, dark washed, bleached, as long as they are jeans, I'm cool with it.

What's your Style?

Dreaming of Closets

Lately I've been pretty busy with getting things ready for the home Mr H. and I will hopefully be getting soon.  One main aspect of a house I would consider is the Master Closet.  I currently have a small closet, not a walkin, full of items that are over flowing.  I needed a walkin closet, which the house we like does have and its a pretty good size.

I've done a bit of picture research of what items I would love to have in my closet.  If only I had a closet the size of a bedroom, I could totally do whatever I wanted, however I don't, so I can only dream of the most amazing closets I will never have.

Dreaming of Closets:

I'm in Love with this one below:

This will probably the closest I get to dream closet.

I actually like the last picture design because it looks just about the right size for the walkin closet in the house and it has many different aspect that I need for all my clothing and accessories.  Who wouldn't want a closet like Mariah Carey or Kimora Lee, I sure would love one, but then again I don't have that many items and I would not know how to organize everything. I know that I definitely want space for shoes, dresses, drawers, clothing accessories, and more space. Still looking at different alternatives and seeing what will be most logical and easiest for everyday life.

What would your DREAM CLOSET have?

Butters, Blushers, Glossers

Picked up a few items this past weekend at Sephora and Walmart.  I'm super excited as these are products I haven't tried before but hearing amazing reviews.

Butters, Blushers, Glossers

Maybelline Dream Bouncy in "Rose Petal" and Revlon Lip Butter in "Peach Parfait"

Korres Lip Butter in "Pomegranate" and Korres Lip Gloss in "30 Beige"

Can't wait to really try these products.  I was iffy at first about the Korres products, but I decided to grab them.  The lipgloss was actually on sale at Sephora JcPenny, so I nabbed it before it was all gone.  I also used coupons for the Drugstore purchase so I saved a bunch of $$ on them too. I love shopping for deals.
Will do a follow-up post on whether I like these products or not hopefully soon.

Have you tried these products before? Do you like or dislike?

Valentine's Blogger Swap Gifts

So earlier this month I had a chance to join in a few Valentine's Blogger Swaps with fellow bloggers.  The Beast & Beauty blog hosted a lovely swap with bloggers from all over the world to share some love and beauty.

I was paired up with Michaela from Lather Rinse Repeat blog who was from Australia!  This was one of my first real blogger swap and I was super excited to give and receive.  Michaela was super lovely and sent me some awesome goodies from Australia.

V-Day Beauty Blogger Swap Goodies:

Beauty Masks!!!
and some Yummy goodies

Its always neat to get products from other countries and see what kind of beauty products that other beauty bloggers use.  I'm always so used to having all types of beauty products available so quickly that I tend to forget that there are endless products out there to try.  I also love getting yummy goodies from overseas.  Its hard to find international goodies here in FL, so I'm so glad Michaela included some for me.

I can't wait to try out all the things Michaela gave me. Thank you soo much!
I hope she enjoys all I gave her!

What? Who did your nails?

In attempting to be creative with my nail polish art and creating something cool, I decided to play with some colors and glitters.  I wanted to work with some pinks, corals, and purples, since it was still February and Color Blocking is so the trend at the moment.

So yesterday I went to work, and a co worker saw my nails and said "Did you pay to have your nails done?". I laughed and said, "Heck no, I did it myself" lol.  I would never pay anyone to do what I did to my own nails. We both laughed.

Anyways here is my version of color blocking, girly, glittered, pink, v-day nails:

Here's what I used:

ESSIE French Affair
ESSIE Your Hut or Mines
Wet N Wild 435
Seche Vite
OPI Dimsum Plum

I do hope to attempt more crazy color combinations and pretty ones as well.  I'm still a rookie, but learning along the way.
